Where Did Valentines Day Start?

Well we all know there are probably a hundred of them but the most popular one I keep here and seening is way way back in the Roman Empire the reign of Claudius II 270 A.D
He didn’t want his men to marry during “wartime” . He though it made them better soldiers to be single . A man by the name of Bishop Valentine preformed secret weddings when he was caught and ordered to jail and to be executed on Feb. 14 he wrote a love song to the jail keepers daughter

Also

The ancient Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia on Feb. 14 in honor of Juno , the queen of the roman gods and goddesses
She was also the goddess of women and marriage

Then official in 1537
King Henry VII officially made it Feb.14 St. Valentine’s Day
